Let yourself be impressed by the Tsingy National Park of Namoroka

 
For your next stay in Majunga, take a tour of the Namoroka National Park, a magical place about fifty kilometers from Soalala. You will be impressed by the fascinating landscapes designed by the Tsingy or lapiaz in a blessed region in terms of biodiversity.
 
In 1996, Namoroka was already an Integral Nature Reserve. The site was granted the status of National Park in 2002. Since 2001, it forms a unique complex with the Nature Reserve Bie de Baly. The place is famous for its more or less sharp peaks called Tsingy. These are chaos of calcareous rocks - dating from the middle Jurassic era - shaped for years by wind and rain.
To enjoy the Tsingy as well as the other riches of the Namoroka National Park, go to one of the three circuits offered by Madagascar National Parks. The first two routes: Ambovonomby and Antsifotra give access to the limestone peaks on which grow pachypodiums, a species of rare baobab. On the sides of these mountains of rocks you will see narrow passages leading into stalagmite caves. As for the third circuit called Mandevy (which boils), it takes you to a place where you will observe a boiling water of blue turquoise color.
 
Wherever you go in the Namoroka Natural Park, you will enjoy the rich biodiversity of the region. The lemurs will always keep you companies. You will also have the opportunity to photograph the most beautiful specimens of baobabs.

When to go

Like the entire Boeny region, Namoroka is bathed in a savannah climate. The temperature rises on average to 27°C. The period between May and November is conducive to a visit to the park.

How to get there

From Antananarivo, take the RN4 to Majunga. Then take the RNT19 to Bombetoka. Cross the bay of Bombetoka to reach Katsepy. From here, you will follow the road to Soalala for 150 km. You can opt for a boat trip from Majunga for a minimum of 6 hours.

Where to stay

At the end of your visit to Namoroka National Park, you can sleep at the inhabitant's home. Once in Majunga, find the comfort of your hotel.
