A surf spot, a social community
Not only is this site a cove surrounded by a mountain range that attracts lovers of sandy beaches but it is also a known surf spot in the world. Surfing and kitesurfing are practiced on this site in the south, east, or northwesterly wind. It was in this spot that the surfing activity began in Fort-Dauphin in the ate 1960s. The particularity of this spot is the opportunity it offers to young people from disadvantaged neighborhoods, through charity enterprise Monsignor Bay Surf Club, or MBSC. These young people are therefore introduced to this sport often reserved for the elite; materials are made available to them, accompanied of course by technical support, an initiative that dates back to 2015.

The average temperature is around 24 ° C. The climate is favourable all year round; the rainiest period is between February and March.

How to get there

It is recommended to go to Fort-Dauphin by air, with a departure from Tana: 1h45mn of non-stop flight and 2h30mn or more with stopover. Otherwise, to travel the 1100 km of road with ravaged tracks, it will take you 3 to 4 days minimum via Tana (RN7 then RN13) for more adventures and discoveries.
