Ambodiforaha's Endemika Park

Sainte Marie Island is a Malagasy jewel located off the Eastern coast of Madagascar, 35 km from Soanierana-Ivongo. The island is famous for its idyllic scenery and breathtaking activities. It requires a stay long enough to fully enjoy all the splendor it offers. One of the highlights is the guided tour of Ambodiforaha's Endemika Park located 2 km off the airport. It provides a pleasant course on less than half a hectare but rich in surprises. The park is home to endemic species of Madagascar preserved from mass tourism.

First, there are tomato frogs commonly found in the humid forests of the East coast. Then, there are the three endemic species of snakes: the Boa Sanzinia Madagascariensis, a harmless nocturnal snake measuring up to 3 meters, the Langaha Madagascariensis creeping snake with its small black eyes hardly perceptible, and the snake Leioheterodon Madagascariensis which is the one of the fastest racers in the world. Then comes the Panther Chameleon Furciferpardalis – as species that it does not change its color.

The lemurs of Madagascar are also presented: the lemurs Varecia Variegata, makis varis black and white, and the microcèbes, one of the smallest species of lemurs. The park is also worth a visit due to its botanic. The raffia, a name of Malagasy origin, is intended for rope and various confections that make the reputation of Malagasy art. Then there are several species of orchids and vanilla.
